15 Day Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari


Day 1: Arrive At Entebbe International Airport

Our representative will be there to greet you upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport! We'll then transfer you to the Protea Hotel Kampala for a comfortable stay, with dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Kampala City Tour

Today is all about exploring Kampala! Visit the Uganda Museum and marvel at the history and culture of our people. Then go to the Kasubi Tombs and pay your respects, followed by a visit to Namugongo Shrines. After that, enjoy a cultural performance at Ndere Center with dinner before returning back to Protea Hotel for another overnight. 

Day 3: Kampala- Jinja

Let's start with breakfast and then head off East to Mabira Forest for some light forest walks and Zip Lining! You'll get a glimpse of local wildlife and birds before driving on to Jinja – an adventure center located at the source of the Nile River. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, then cap off your day with a boat ride before having dinner and an overnight stay at Source of the Nile Hotel.

Day 4: Itanda Jinja

It's time to experience something grand! You'll partake in thrilling activities ranging from Quad Biking, water rafting up to grade 5, bungee jumping, cycling – it's going to be an action-packed day! In between activities, take time to admire those rapids by relaxing for a bit. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Source of the Nile Hotel again.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison National Park

Let's get an early start today so you can check out what Murchison National Park has in store! Along the way we'll make a stopover at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking – it should take us around 8 hours before finally reaching where we'll have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 6: Murchison National Park

Have breakfast then head off for your morning game drive that will enable you to see lions (fingers crossed!). Pass through Lake Albert and Nile Delta - home to elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes & more birds than imaginable – before making your way up top World’s strongest falls (it’s breathtaking!). Back in the lodge it’ll be time for lunch; take a break afterwards then go on a boat cruise in the afternoon that takes you along where numerous Nile crocodiles live & brightly colored kingfishers perch on river banks. This ride leads all the way up top World’s strongest FALLS – definitely one of highlights of this trip!

Day 7: Murchison National Park-Kibale National Park

Time to move on; we're off toward Kibale National Park today via Kampala & through Albertine Escarpment – it should take us close 8 hours until arriving in Fort Portal (the view en route is seriously stunning!),

Day 8: Kibale National Park & Bigodi Swamp

Feast your eyes on nature today as we explore amazing Kibale Forest which boasts highest concentration of primates in East Africa; join us as we embark on guided nature walk searching wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey etcetera. After lunch we transfer over Bigodi Swamp Walk (2 hrs. long) which is run by local community – its lush bird life& diverse primates are definitely worth seeing!

Day 9: Kibale - Queen Elizabeth                                                                                                                    
Start with breakfast followed by drive over Queen Elizabeth National Park filled with elephants, lions hippos etcetera; jump right into game drives this afternoon then hop aboard boat cruise along Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward & George - unlimited sightings of elephants buffalo hippos etcetera guaranteed here too!

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth                                                         

Head south towards Ishasha - home of tree climbing lions - after breakfast; embark on morning game drive viewing these lions from up close followed by lunch break where you can relax some more afterwards.

Day 11: Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start the day with a delicious breakfast and head off to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park! Here you can take a village walk; visit traditional healers and get an inside look into the locals' way of life. You'll also have a chance to observe a typical homestead and enjoy a performance from the local dance group before dinner.

Day 12: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is when the highlight of your primate safari begins - prepare for an up-close encounter with the gentle giants of Bwindi! If you're one for hikes, get ready for some long distance trekking on steep, muddy grounds (at times with rain overhead) until you meet any gorillas. Though it may feel like a mission, it's all worth it when you get to observe them closely as they eat, play and rest - providing you with an unforgettable experience that's truly incomparable! In order to conserve these magnificent creatures, time spent with them is limited to one hour and your ranger guide will brief you on how to act towards them.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Uganda

Early in the morning, once you've had some breakfast, get ready for the transfer to beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. You'll be able to take in the sights of the rolling hills and terraced landscape along the way. Once you arrive, have some lunch and then hit the lake later on for an afternoon boat ride. You'll see many different birds on the small islands throughout.

Day 14: Bunyonyi to Kampala

Start off your day with a drive back to Kampala, which usually takes around 8 hours depending on various factors like traffic. On your way there, visit Mpigi Royal Drum Makers and transfer to your accommodation for your overnight.

Day 15: Departure

Say goodbye to this beautiful country with a hearty breakfast before heading out for some shopping in Kampala and a special gift from us. Afterwards, transfer over to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight back home - please note that it should be an afternoon departure flight. If you're interested in staying longer than what's indicated here and want to explore Uganda further (which is blessed with plenty of natural activities), speak with us or our representative when making your booking! You can even go hiking The Mountains of The Moon (5109 meters).
